Renovation works ended

Buildings of the Rudas stand on the World Heritage site of the banks of the Danube and constitute one of the most characteristic sites of Budapest. Although ‘Rudas Baths’ are one of the four authentic Turkish baths in the city its buildings are neglected and cannot fulfill their role in the urban landscape. The objective of the recent works was to restore the buildings to their end of 1800s state as much as possible.

The chief objectives of the planning programme were the reconstruction of the facade and the roofing frameworks, and the creation of an open passageway between the two parts of the building so that customers could use all the services available in the baths. The new café planned for the entrance hall should make access possible both from the inside and the outside. After the renovation the bath is accessible also with wheelchair.
